Obituary of Diane (Sheparski) MacKenzie

Diane Jean (Sheparski) MacKenzie, age 72, of Westville passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018 at her home with her loving family by her side after a long hard fought battle with cancer.

Born in Thorburn, she was a daughter of the late Tony and Muriel (Fraser) Sheparski.

Between working at Mings or HLM Realties, you were sure to be greeted with a smile and hearty laugh.

When Diane wasn’t spending time with family, she could often be found on the dance floor or enjoying Timmies with her many friends.  Thru her life she was able to travel the world and enjoy the many adventures life presented.

She will be dearly missed by her daughter Leona MacKenzie (Chris Johnstone), Westville; son Brian Nelligan (Kyla), Bowmanville, Ont.; step-daughter Cindy Sullivan, Mississauga; grandchildren, Victoria, Alexis, and Riker.  She is also survived by sisters Marion Smith (Keith), Thorburn, Karen Malloy, Westville; and Shirley Rector, Thorburn; brothers, Gordon Sheparski (Darlene McEachran), Thunder Bay;  Howard Sheparski (Rhonda), Sudbury; sister-in-law Muriel Jackson, Westville; brother-in-law Simmy MacKenzie (Anne), Trenton; host sons, from Mexico, Samuel, Javier, and Andres.

She was predeceased by her husband Lauchie; step-daughter Valerie MacDonald, and step-son Daniel MacKenzie.

Her family received visitors on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Funeral service was held at 1 o’clock Friday from St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Westville with Rev. Bonnie Wynn officiating.  Burial in the Thorburn Cemetery.  Donations can be made to Palliative Care Society at the Aberdeen Hospital or charity of your choice.

Diane certainly was an inspiration to all with her life motto “Live each day to the fullest, everyone only has today”.
