She was predeceased by her husband, Ian; sisters: Jean Halliday,  Martha, Ida and Mabel, and brothers: Clarence, Tom and Jim Rundle.

Mom was born a “Coal Miner’s” daughter on Irving Street in Westville.  She grew up next door to the love of her life Ian Daley.  Shortly after their marriage they had children and started their life together.  Mom and Dad reluctantly left their beloved families, the Rundles, Hallidays and Daley’s to follow Dad’s military career.  Mom was the rock that supported us all as Dad performed his service for our country.

We had many adventures as we travelled around military bases and thankfully our Mother was there to guide us through all these moves and changes.  When we returned home and settled in Onslow, they spent many an evening playing cards and talking about old times with their families from Westville.  Eileen’s family was her life and she was always there no matter what we needed.  Sometimes it was a nurturing shoulder to cry on and other times it was a kick in the butt but she always knew the right thing to say.  Mom loved her grandchildren and there was never a time that she didn’t ask for them even in her last days.

We are forever grateful to the Women of MacLeod House who took wonderful care of our Mother.  You became her friends and she truly loved you as we know you loved her.  It was a great comfort to us that she was with people who loved her during the times that we couldn’t be there.

Thank you, Mom, for giving us everything that we have, we are devastated that you are gone but happy that you are re-united with the love of your life.  We know Dad was there waiting for you and that you are both finally dancing together again.

Mrs. Daley’s cremation has occurred.  There will be a visitation on Wednesday March 7 at 1:00 pm followed by her funeral service held at 2:00 pm. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville, with Rev. Mary Taylor officiating. Graveside committal will follow at Auburn Cemetery.  Donations in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
