My deepest sympathies go out to Anne and family! I worked many years at Gallery 448 and framed some of your mother’s incredible work of art. I had often wondered what had become of her. I also have a duck that your father had carved. I will treasure my memories!

Dear Shirley,Ann,Nelson and families, Condolences on the loss of your Mom. I still remember the time your Mom joined us for a walk on the beach at the Caribou Monroe’s Island Provincial Park when we were celebrating one of your special birthday’s Shirley. She was so happy to smell the salt air and put her feet in the sand. She closed her eyes and said, it’s memories of days like these that help you through the dark winter nights. May the memories of days gone by with your Mom and family times together help sustain you in the week and months ahead. Love Heather and Gary .

Marjorie (and Wilbert) had remarkable talent in their chosen artistic expressions of life. They had good lives in every sense of that word. My condolences to you, Shirley, Anne and Nelson, and your own immediate families, who no doubt contributed considerably to their enjoyment of their lives. Shirley was an intelligent, humble, lovely and well-loved woman. Our memories of her, and the appreciation of many examples of her artistic creativity will continue, well beyond the immediate sadness in hearing of her passing. Sincerely, Nancy MacDonald (Guelph/Glencoe)

My sincere sympathy to all of Marjorie’s family. I drove Marjorie to rug hooking in New Glasgow many times.I always thoroughly enjoyed our conversations and we had many laughs together. Yes,she had indeed an OUTSTANDING ability in designing her own patterns and all her hooking was done to PERFECTION. Her presence at our rug hooking sessions was always appreciated and enjoyed. Many of us sought her advice regarding what colours we should use in our projects and she would quietly and humbly tell us what she thought would be best .I now live in Halifax and unfortunately unable to attend her funeral.
