Marcella Christine MacGregor, RN, age 83 of Westville, passed away on Thursday, March 5th, 2020 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Thorburn, she was a daughter of the late Seymour and Dorothy (Hulan) Smith. Marcella grew up in Thorburn, and graduated from the Aberdeen Hospital School of Nursing in 1957, where she worked as an RN for 38 years primarily on the children’s ward and later ending her career at the Diabetic Education Clinic. In her retirement, she enjoyed trips to Florida, art classes, cooking, knitting, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her children; Sandy, Westville, Roseanne (Arthur Davidson), New Glasgow, Joan MacGregor (Jimmie Nelson), New Glasgow, Allyson (Jim Shaw), New Glasgow and Heather (Brad Hebb), Middle Sackville; grandchildren, Shawna, Sheri, Mitchell, Daniel, Dylan, Paige, Chelsea, Lindsay, Abbey, William, Johnathan, and Holly, as well as 7 great grandchildren; brothers; Bill Smith, Sydney and Melvin Smith (Sheila), Thorburn. She was predeceased by her husband, William “Bill” MacGregor and special aunt Rose MacDonald. Marcella’s family will receive visitors on Friday, March 6 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her memorial service will be held on 11 o’clock, Saturday, from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville, with Rev. Dr. Mary Taylor officiating.
