A public grave side service will be held 1 o'clock Saturday, October 19, at St. Bees Cemetery, Westville.

Obituary of Major Wellington MacLeod

MacLeod, Major Wellington Hoyt "Bud", age 90, Westville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 16,  in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.

Born in Westville, he was a son of the late George "Red" and Charlotte "Lottie" (Hale) MacLeod.

Wellington served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a fighter test pilot for 28 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Helen (Conrad); sons, Wellington "Buddie" (Sylvie) and Bradford (JoAnne), Ontario; daughter Bonnie Graves (Bob), Dartmouth; 6 grandchildren; brother Raymond (April), Westville; sister Carol MacNaughton, NB; step-daughter Charmaine Lowe, Halifax and step-son Stephen Lowe, Barbados.

He was predeceased by his first wife Beverley (Allen).

Thank you to the staff and volunteers for their care at the Aberdeen Hospital, and a special thanks to neighbours and friends for their tremendous support.

A grave side service will be held 1 o’clock Saturday at St. Bees Cemetery, Westville with Rev. Dr. Mary Taylor officiating.
