Obituary of Tanya (Stewart) Rector

It is with broken hearts that the family of Tanya Lee Rector announce her passing on April 12, 2020, after a tragic accident. Tanya lit up any room she walked into and deeply touched the lives of every person she encountered. She had recently settled into her new career as a dedicated nurse with the local VON and she absolutely adored her clients and being able to help others. She saw the good in everyone and exuded kindness on every level. She was a staunch advocate for mental health and helped many people in their journeys back to light. Tanya will be forever remembered by her loving husband, Michael David Rector, of Westville, sons Austin John Joseph (8) and Abel Christopher (5), and her parents John Joseph and Sharon Elizabeth Stewart of Westville. Tanya also leaves behind two very proud older sisters, Tasha Short (Scott) of New Glasgow and Tammy Stewart (Jesse) of Riversdale; grandmother Sylvia Green of Sylvester; mother-and father-in law, Reg and Carol Rector, Westville; brother-in-law Eric Rector (Renee) of Westville and sister-in-law Tanya Vint (Jeremy) of Westville. Also missing her are her nieces and nephews, all of whom she doted on -ShaLynn, Leeah, Gracie, Liam, Ella Rose, Sylvia, Noah and Olivia. She also leaves behind her beloved dog Lady. Tanya was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Howard Green and paternal grandparents John Joseph and Catherine Minnie Stewart. Tanya is resting at Eagles Funeral Home in Westville. There will be no visitation or burial at this time due to current circumstances; however, a memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations in Tanya's memory may be made to Bethel Baptist Church in Westville, the Mental Health Association of Nova Scotia or your local SPCA branch. "Safe in the Arms of Jesus"
