Obituary of Heidi Lynn Hayes

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Heidi Lynn Hayes (age 47) of Stellarton on Friday, January 31st, 2025, in the ICU, surrounded by her loving family.

Heidi's greatest joy came from spending time with her family. In her early years, she would get to spend a lot of quality one-on-one time with her parents when her brother would be playing hockey.

This fostered the strong bond she would carry throughout the rest of her life with them. In the last years of her life, one of her favourite pastimes was relaxing in the recliner and watching the Chicago shows with her parents.

She was proudly a founding member of the Pictou County Child with Autism association, which would lay the ground work to provide our county with Autism Pictou County. She firmly believed that every child with Autism had a place in our community and deserved to have advocates to help them share their voice, which is exactly what she did.

As a dedicated mother, her face would light up when her children would be over for a visit or call her on the phone. She was elated to talk to anyone that would listen about how proud she was of her children and what they were up to now. She offered love, support and advocacy to them that will be greatly missed. She survived by her father James Emery Hayes of Stellarton, children Kaitlyn Hayes and Kristian Hayes of Stellarton; twin brother Harlin Hayes and nephew Matthew of Halifax; aunts Viola Price, Jeannie (Howie) Sampson and Elizabeth Ballie, many cousins and special friends Alicia Tupper and Colleen and Jim Nix. She was predeceased by her mother, Helen Grace Hayes, her sister Nancy Lee Hayes.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Wednesday, February 5th, 2025, in the Eagles Funeral Home, Westville.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at 2pm from the Eagles Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jun-Hyok Chon officiating.

Family flowers only. Donations can be made to Autism Pictou County or to the family.
