Obituary of John William Macumber
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John William Macumber, aged 95, who peacefully passed away on February 8, 2025, in Moncton, NB with his family by his side.
Born on May 29, 1929, John served with distinction as a Master Corporal in the Royal Canadian Air Force for over two decades, a tenure marked by dedication and exemplary service. Following his military career, he joined Michelin Tire where he continued to work until his retirement in 1991. John was known for his great sense of humor and his caring nature. He cherished his family deeply, a trait that was evident in every aspect of his life. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and fun woodworking projects that he enjoyed as well as gardening (he was so proud of the beautiful vegetable gardens he and Laura would grow). He loved sharing these passions with friends and family alike.
John leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years, Laura; children, Joy Kingsbury, Laura McNamara (Robert), Johnie Macumber (Jenny); grandchildren, Megan Flanigan (Greg), Kelsey McNamara, Jordan McNamara, Kyle Macumber and great grandson Finnley Flanigan. He is also survived by his sisters, Pam and Mary and brothers, Spencer, Vernon and Alfred along with many nieces and nephews.

A service to honor John's life will be held on Wednesday, February 12th at 2 pm at Eagles Funeral Home in Westville. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Red Cross in John's memory.
John's life was one of laughter, love, and service, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
