Joy Marie Gower

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joy Marie Gower, who passed away on February 9th, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Joy was born on October 13th, 1954 to Roy Allen and Betty (Stevens) Gower. She enjoyed a life full of hobbies, which included gardening, reading, knitting, and crochet. She displayed immense care for others, and she would lend a hand to anyone in need. She worked in homecare, where she was able to display this helping spirit. She also worked in the forestry sector, and she had a love for the outdoors and nature.

Joy is survived by her children David, Karl (Crystal), Steven (Tracy), and Roger; sisters Brenda and Nancy (Blair); brothers Dale (Debbie) and Paul (Bobbie); sister-in-law Helen; grandchildren Michaela, Fox, Ace, Silas, Vida, Anthony, Zachary, Brooklyn, Abigail, David, Scarlett, and Diana. She also leaves behind her dog, Carlo.

She was predeceased by her parents Roy Allen and Betty (Stevens) Gower; brother Roy; and her special friend Parker Irving.

Visitation will be held at the Eagles Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, February 13th from 12:00-2:00pm, with the funeral to follow at 2:00pm with Pastor Bruce Morrison officiating. Burial will take place in Millbrook Cemetery at a later date.

Donations in Joy’s name may be made out to the SPCA or a charity of one’s choice.
