Obituary of Verna Muriel Lloyd
Verna Muriel (Dawson) Lloyd passed away peacefully on February 26th, 2025, at the Aberdeen Hospital in her 90th year. She was born on September 15th, 1935, to Caroline and George Dawson and was one of 16 children. Beloved sister, she is pre deceased by Melvin, Tom, Carl, Audrey, Ruth, George (Eric), Deborah, Inez, Alexander, and Susan. Survived by Bonnie, Linda, Wyman, Gerald (Skip), and Harold (Bucko).
Verna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Danny Lloyd, with whom she shared 60 years of love, companionship, and treasured memories. Together, they raised a wonderful family. Verna is deeply missed by her children: Vernon (Tammy), Inez (John), Robert (Glenda), John (Janice), Robin Bruce (Carolyn), Michael (Cathy), Daniel Jr., and Terry (Tonia). She was incredibly proud of all her children, whom she cherished every day. Her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren filled her with immense joy.
Verna, a cancer survivor, was the ultimate fighter. Despite her small stature, she battled through every life challenge with unwavering courage. Her heart was bigger than life itself. Faith and religion were central to Verna’s life, guiding her through all her days with strength and grace. Known for her kindness and devotion to her family and friends. Verna was always happiest when spending time with loved ones. She could often be found at the kitchen table, enjoying a cup of tea, and making memories. Verna/ was an avid fan of John Wayne movies and Louis L'Amour books, which brought her great joy throughout her life.
A Memorial Service and Internment for Verna and Danny will be held in the spring. The family invites all who knew and loved them to join in remembering their lives and the many ways they touched others.
Verna will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her legacy of love, kindness, faith, and strength will continue to inspire all who knew her.
