Obituary of Darlyn Wendy Rose Williamson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darlyn Wendy Rose Williamson, who passed away at the Aberdeen Hospital on March 17th, 2025.

Darlyn Wendy Rose MacLean was born in Lorne, Pictou County on December 26th, 1948. She grew up in Lorne as the oldest girl of 9 children. When she was 16, their family moved to Foxbrook, Pictou County. As a teenager her first job was at Siddalls as a meat packer. Little did she know, working on another shift was the future love of her life.

Darlyn worked at various places as a cook, waitress, and salesperson in the New Glasgow Region and attended St. Paul's United church.

She met her first husband, Arnold Langille in 1969 and they were married in August, 1970.

Darlyn became a mother in 1974 to a baby girl Roseann, two years later came her son John in 1976, then Rachel in 1980 and finally Christopher was born in 1982. Darlyn fostered many children and poured her heart into volunteering.

She was involved as a president and head caterer with 374 parents auxiliary air cadets.

She loved to cook and bake; her children and all the neighborhood kids enjoyed the benefits when she filled the freezer full of baked goods at Christmas time. Darlyn was very creative and worked constantly on craft projects and loved to go treasure hunting at yard sales.

In 2019, she met and married Don Williamson from Ontario and started a new chapter in her life.

They were married at Christian Fellowship Church where they enjoyed attending and are also part of the family church community at Father's House in New Glasgow. Darlyn loved flowers and her and Donnie loved to fill their yard with many beautiful plants and flowers for all to enjoy. She liked to play darts, washer toss, and they played Yahtzee every night. She and Donnie would also attend monthly jam sessions with local musicians, and she was a part of the ukulele club. Darlyn loved God and treasured her family and she and her husband did daily devotions to grow in their faith together. Darlyn loved being a grandmother to her 8 grandchildren and was excited to soon become a great grandmother.

Darlyn is survived by her husband, Don Williamson; previous husband Arnold Langille; children Roseann (Corey) Langille-Smith, John (Mandy) Langille, Rachel (Richard) Langille-Boudreau, Christopher (Amber) Langille, Ralph (Deb) Williamson, Scott (Michele) Williamson, Jennifer (Marvin) Kruis, Rebecca (Gerry) Goulet, and Gordon (Chantal) Williamson; grandchildren Marcus (Kylie), Xavier, Leo, Nate, Faith, Savannah, Luke, Victoria, Tyler (Raven), Justin (Alyse), Nathan (Stephanie), Morgan, Hadden, Liam, Ethan, Mariska, Elsie, Kara, Savannah, Scotia, Silas, Spencer, Kayden, and Grayson; great-grandchildren Melody, Maya, and another soon to be; sisters Diane (Tom) Phelan, Jennifer (David) Fleury, and Shelley MacLean; brother Ron (Heather) MacLean; sister in law Rhonda DeGruchy; brother in law Laurie Sharpe; her fur baby Lily; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents John M. and Helen (Russell) MacLean; her two twin sons in infancy; brothers John MacLean, Lloyd (Karen) MacLean and Chris MacLean; and her sister Mary (MacLean) Sharpe.

Visitation will be held at Eagles Funeral Home Monday, March 24th, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held at Eagles Funeral Chapel Wednesday, March 26th, at 1pm with Pastor Bob Ring officiating.

She will be greatly missed but the hope and assurance we have is that we know she is in the arms of her saviour Jesus, and this is not "goodbye" it is "until we meet again".
