Obituary of William Joseph Beaton

William Joseph "Joe" Beaton, age 70, of Granton, passed away on Tuesday April 15th, 2025 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.  Born on February 24, 1955 in Inverness to John Donald and Veronica (MacNeil) Beaton.

Joe was an avid musician throughout his life, playing in various bands and church choirs.  His special place was the family homestead in Mabou Mines, NS, where he enjoyed getting together with family and friends.

He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Joe worked at Michelin until his retirement, then took a job as a school bus driver until health issues forced him to retire permanently.

Joe was predeceased by his parents John Donald and Veronica;  his wife Brenda (Muise); and a daughter Lesley Beaton.

Joe is survived by sons:  Paul (Cynthia) Beaton; Alex and Adam Beaton and a daughter Kim Haslam Beaton (Tim Mansour).  Sisters Mary Beaton, Anne (Hugh) Palmer, brothers Sandy (Carol) Beaton, and Finlay (Judy) Beaton.  Grandchildren Madison, Neil, Anthony, Cameron, Jenna, Keegan, Neelah and Courtney; great-grandchild Emma.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19th at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm & 6:00 - 8:00pm.  Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 21st at 11:00 am, from The Holy Name Roman Catholic Church with Father Peter MacDonald officiating.  

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family in support of Joe's disabled son Adam.
