I had the absolute honour of working with Lois at the Westville Medical Clinic for a little over a year. From the first day I arrived, I was always greeted with a warm hello and as soon as she learned my Tim’s order, a hot cup of peppermint tea. Her morning routine was to walk down to Tim’s and pick up a drink for all of us. For those of you who know Lois, I’m sure you aren’t surprised, given her heart of gold. Just having moved from Halifax, and working in a very different environment, I felt like I was being treated like royalty. I have a funny feeling that Lois made a lot of people feel the same. Her kindness, zest for life, and way of making people feel appreciated was so apparent in all of my interactions with her. I am so thankful to her for making my transition to a new city, where I didn’t know anyone, so easy. My heart aches for her family, friends who were like family and everyone feeling this great loss. The Westville Clinic hasn’t been the same without Lois’ infectious laugh, and Donna’s “partner in crime”. I almost deleted partner in crime because - what a strange thing to put on a post like this.. but I could picture Lois laughing at the thought, so there it stays. We all know that they were doing the opposite of crime. They were and Donna continues to keep us all organized and running smoothly. To Lois’ family, my thoughts are with you. I know you were her world, and vice versa.

My sincere condolences to the family on your great loss. My introduction to Lois was at Westville Rink when Brownie (Greg) was a Westville Miner. A most supportive mom was Lois. I was always guaranteed a warm greeting and a great laugh when sitting beside her. Over the years when our paths crossed she would keep me updated on her family……her pride and joy.
A lovely caring and kind lady, with such amazing wit…..you will be fondly remembered.

So shocked and saddened to read of Lois's passing. I thank God for our chats when we would run into each other or on the phone during worktime. Lois would say "Your my cousin" and the chat would go from there. Lois was a wonderful, beautiful woman inside and out, just like her mom. I'm just so sad. My sincere condolences to you all during this most difficult time.

Janet and Sam Matheson.
Lois was a fantastic person. From knowing her through Paddy at school, to playing ball with her, to having her help and skills at the Westville Medical Centre. She was good at what she did. She had a great sense of smile and laughter.
At one of our ball tournaments in Lismore, rain stoped the game and drove us all into the community centre. Music was playing. When Footloose came on, Lois hopped onto a table and did a dance that made us all clap along.
Yup. She was that king of gal.
What a shock to learn of her brief fight with cancer.
I send my heartfelt sympathy.
