Obituary of Hugh Allen Wright

Hugh Allen Wright, 84, formerly of Westville passed away May 19th at the Shiretown Nursing Home Pictou.

Hughie was the son of George and Mildred Wright and many stories were told about the days on Office Street with his siblings, who always remained important to him. 

Hughie spent the majority of his working years at the former Kimberly Clark. He often talked about the people he worked with there and the family joked, there was never a snow storm missed, especially if there was a meal ticket involved.

Hughie loved the outdoors and a vacation week was saved for hunting season. Summers were always spent at the cottage where he enjoyed planting his garden and having a drink with family and friends. Many great parties where held there over the years and it remained an important place for him until his health started to decline. 

Always at Hughie's  side was his wife and best friend Anna. The two of them spent 50 years together and life was not the same for him without her. Hughie also leaves behind his two children Glenn and Connie (Ken) , grandson Seth and brother Calvin.

He was predeceased by his parents George and Mildred as well as his siblings Doreen, Erwin, Audrey, Betty, Edward, George, Alex and Carl.

The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Shiretown Nursing Home for the years of support and care they provided. You were very special to Hughie and his family. I am sure you will miss his familiar "hey", as you walk by his room.

There will no visitation, a graveside service will occur on Friday, May 23rd at 11:00am, at Waterside Cemetery, Pictou.

While Hughie is gone, he leaves behind memories and stories that will live in the hearts of many for years. As he said at the end of every phone call, Bye for now!
