Obituary of Anne Elizabeth Dooley
It is with broken hearts and utter devastation that we announce the passing of our Mom, Anne Elizabeth Dooley
Mom was born on September 13, 1942, the only daughter of the late Christine Chisholm.
Born and raised in Westville, Mom graduated from Westville High School and later Maritime Business College. Some of Mom's fondest memories were working at Bingo and having a jive at the Saturday Nightdances from where she met our dad, Medford.
Together they raised their five children and special foster daughter Mary. After 51 years of marriage dad passed in 2014 but we were delighted when Mom found love once again with "her first boyfriend from highschool", George Dooley, they were married in 2016 and just recently celebrated their 9th wedding anniversary. Mom's final years with George brought her nothing but joy and laughter and combined two families as one.
Surviving are her husband, George Dooley, sons Louie, Chris, Calvin (Sonya), Bill (Sharon), daughter and bestfriend Jessica MacDonald (Walter) and special foster daughter Mary Chennell (Jimmy). Her pride and joy, her only grandchildren, Tysha Brar (Sahil) and her precious little Annie Mae, steps sons Wade Dooley (Brenda), Kevin Dooley (Darla), step-daughter Lynette, step grandchildren Steven (Katelyn), Nick, Brandon, Jeremy (Emma) cousin Jean MacKinnon who was really her special sister, brothers in law Bill Stevens, Calvin Wright, Eddie Stevens (Lenora), Myles Stevens (Jean), sister in law Angeline Stevens, many nieces and nephews.
Aside from her mother, mom was predeceased by her husband, Medford Stevens, her Aunt Catherine MacMillian Reekie, cousin Doris MacMaster, brother in laws Lawson (Lollie) Stevens, Farrell MacKenzie, sisters in law, Ina Cameron, Rhoda MacKenzie and Audrey Wright.
Mom had a heart as big as a mountain and loved every person she met. Her home was always open and those she loved always came first, next only to the Lord who was at the forefront of every thing she did. Mom's faith was unwavering even until the very end when she proclaimed "God is so good".
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 23 from 2-4 and 7-9PM at Eagles Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be from the Church of the Holy Name, Westville on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 11:00AM.
Donations in Mom's memory may be made to the Palliative Care Society or a charity of your choice
Thank you to the VON, staff of the ER and the palliative care team for their compassion and care for mom.
"If love could have saved you mom, you would have lived forever".
