Obituary of Isabel Fraser Ross

Isabel Fraser (MacDonald) Ross

Oct 5, 1932 – July 27, 2025

Born in New Glasgow, Isabel grew up in McLellans Mountain, Pictou County, the youngest of 5 daughters of the late Thomas and Ethel MacDonald. Isabel married her life partner, the late James (Jim) Alexander Ross on August 18, 1954. Together they raised two children, the late Lorne Ross and their daughter Donna Lee Ross. Isabel lived most of her adult life on Belmont Avenue Stellarton. She also enjoyed summers and weekends at the family camp at Greenvale. She moved to Valley View Villa in 2017, where she met many new friends.

In addition to her parents, her husband, her son and an infant daughter, Isabel was predeceased by her sisters Mildred Kellock, Violet Maclellan and Mae Cameron. She is survived by daughter Donna, granddaughter Denise, her sister Elva Roy, and her late son’s companion Sheila Lewis. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews who live across Canada.  

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Valley View Villa for their care of Isabel over the past 8 years, and in particular during the final week of her illness.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 31 at 1pm, followed by a funeral service at 2pm, Rev. Charles MacPherson presiding. Burial will follow at McLellan’s Mountain Cemetery.
