Obituary of Sarah Mae Polley
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the death of Sally Polley (MacLellan), who passed away on August 1 at the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow.
Sally was born in Sydney Mines and moved to Sydney as a young girl where she met her future husband, Fred. They were married for 66 years. In 1973 they moved to Westville where Sally continued to live for more than half her life. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, the Westville Garden Club and the St Andrew’s Society.
Sally is survived by sister, Ann Marie McIntyre; three brothers, Billy Turvey, Johnnie and Sandy MacLellan; daughter Lynn Verwijs (Hans) and son Jan Polley; several nieces and nephews. Sally was predeceased by husband Fred and sister Una Newton.
There will be no visitation as per Sally’s request. She will be interred in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney, next to her husband, Fred.
