Obituary of Donna Lynn Bourque

It is with great sadness that the family of Donna Lynn Bourque (Fraser) announce her passing on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at the age of 70 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.

Born in New Glasgow, February 24, 1955 she was a daughter of the late Donald Fraser and Helen (Skidmore) Doyle.

Donna had a warm and welcoming presence that made you feel comfortable and loved. She loved with her whole heart and would move mountains for anyone.

Her true joy came from spending time with family and friends. She also looked forward to a great hamburger at a BBQ, a fine hand in cards, a lucky bingo card and a dart that went where she wanted.

Donna always said her greatest accomplishment was her family. She will be dearly missed by her daughter Mary, son-in-law Joey Gerrior, grandchildren Kiara, Annais, Billy (Brock) Gerrior, Tyler (Breanna) Gerrior; great-grandchildren Lovelle and Emmette; sisters Elva Lauchlan (John MacCallum), son Jason Lauchlan (Missy James), Earlene (Charlie) Kehoe, their children Carly (Cobee) MacNaughton, Charles Kehoe, all of Westville; aunt Blanche Fraser; uncle Earl (Shirley) Fraser, and their children Laura Staples (Matt Major) , Karen (Ryan) Stevenson,  all of New Brunswick; sisters and brothers-in-law Theresa (Kevin) Darroch, Marshdale; Jeanie (Edison) Stewart, Belle Bourque, all of Westville; many nieces and nephews; many chosen kids and grandkids that spent time in her home over the years and cherished pets that brought her so much joy, Willow, Hidie and Toasty.

Besides her parents Donna was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years Thomas “Tommy” Bourque; aunt Marie (Allie) Halliday; uncles Lawrence Fraser; father and mother-in law Fred Sr. and Emma Bourque; brothers-in-law Joe Bourque, Fred Bourque, Bernie Bourque, Michael Bourque, Johnny Bourque, Jimmy Bourque; sisters-in-law Patsy Evans, Junie Bourque, Pat Bourque, Marie Bourque and special puppies Tiny and Luna.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 in Eagles Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 2 pm in Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Westville with father Peter MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Name Cemetery. Memorial or donations may be made to your local SPCA.

We will miss Donna dearly, but her memory will live on in our hearts forever.

We would like to send out heartfelt thanks to each and every Doctor, Nurse, VON, Caregiver and Glen Haven Manor Ocean Drive staff who have helped with mom over the years. Your compassion, kindness, love and friendship will never be forgotten.
