Celebration of Life
Obituary of Paula Jane Pellerine
In Loving Memory of Paula Jane (Williams) Pellerine
July 18, 1962 – September 11, 2025
The world feels quieter today, though Paula would never have wanted it that way.
She filled rooms with her kindness, steadied storms with her compassion, and lifted lives with her fierce loyalty. Paula wasn’t fancy — she liked to call herself “the rotten middle one” when speaking of the three Williams girls — but she was extraordinary in all the ways that matter. She was the kind of woman who would give you the shirt off her back, the second last scoop of ice cream, and the better seat at the table. She didn’t have a bad bone in her body, but don’t mistake her goodness for weakness — if you managed to land on her bad side, you knew it.
Born on July 18, 1962, Paula carried a lifelong passion for people. She was a peacekeeper, a caregiver, and a guardian — first to her daughter, and most recently to her mom. She made friends easily, listened deeply, and stretched a dollar farther than most people thought possible.
Paula also had a gift with her hands. With her sewing, she stitched love into every quilt and special piece she made for friends and family. And in the kitchen, she worked the same magic — whipping up trays of squares and baked goods that carried her love straight from oven to table. Whether through stitches or sugar, Paula had a way of wrapping people in care.
On July 27, 1985, she married the love of her life, Robert Pellerine, and together they built a life anchored in love and laughter. Paula and Robert raised their daughter, Melissa Dawn (Andy) MacDonald, and later welcomed the greatest joys of her life — her three grandchildren: James Pellerine, Rory MacDonald, and Myra MacDonald. Nothing delighted her more than the simple sweetness of being “Nanny.”
Paula poured her energy and care into her own cleaning business, serving countless clients across Pictou County with hard work, dedication, and a generous heart. She loved helping others, made friends easily, and was fiercely loyal.
She was predeceased by her parents, John (Jackie) and June (Dunn) Williams, and her parents-in-law, Peggy and Nicholas Pellerine. She leaves behind her devoted husband Robert, her daughter Melissa (Andy), her beloved grandchildren James, Rory, and Myra, her sisters Donna (Gordon) Boyle and Bernice Williams, in addition her in-laws Mary (Archie) Malally, Patsy Rae, Diane (Tommy) MacMillan, as well as extended family, and many friends who will carry her memory forward.
Paula fought hard to stay with us. Even as illness took its toll, she showed the same determination, generosity, and love that marked her whole life. To her grandson, she was simply selfless, kind, and loving — words that capture the essence of who she was to everyone who knew her. She leaves us with a legacy of loyalty, laughter, and compassion that cannot be measured.
To know Paula was to be loved by her. And to lose her is to know just how much one life can matter.
