Obituary of Carl Sterling McLean

The family of the late Carl Sterling McLean announce his passing on Sunday, September 14th 2025 at the Valley View Villa.

Carl was the son of the late Burns and Pearl MacLean.  He attended Westville High School and later joined the military.  He spent 30 years in military service, and spent many postings across Canada and peacekeeping in Egypt. In his spare time, Carl enjoying playing the guitar, and collecting guitars.  He also enjoyed bingo, curling and bowling.

Carl is survived by his wife of 61 years, Phyllis (Terris); and sons Timothy and Michael; grandchildren Aaron, Melissa, and Logan; brother Gary (Karen) and sister Donna (Murray) Ryan.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 18^th at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville from 1:00 – 2:30pm.

Donations in memory of Carl may be made to the Pictou County SPCA.
