Obituary of Marguerite Marcipont
Marguerite H. Marcipont, R.N. Queen Street, Westville, passed away Monday, April 13, 2009 in Northwood Centre, Halifax where she resided for the past seven months.
Born in Westville on August 10, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Christena (MacKenzie) Muirhead.
Marguerite was a member of St. Paul United Church. She graduated from the Aberdeen Hospital School of Nursing in 1950 and worked as a dedicated nurse until retirement in 1981.
She will be missed by her daughters, Joyce Horne, New Glasgow; Cheryl MacRae (John), Lower Sackville; grandchildren, Erin MacRae (Ian) , Elaine Horne (Juan Duarte) and Allison Horne, all of Halifax; Paul MacRae, Michael MacRae and Christena MacRae all of Lower Sackville; a brother Burns Muirhead, Westville; sister-in-law Lorraine Muirhead, Westville; son-in-law Bruce Horne, Sinclair Island and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Joseph; sisters, Elva Thompson, Marjorie Chaulk and Ruth Hale and brothers Allister and Lawrence Muirhead.
Visitations will be held on Thursday from 6-9 pm at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Friday from St. Paul United Church, Westville with Rev. Doug Pilsworth officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to the Aberdeen Hospital Foundation.
