Obituary of Andrew William MacLeod

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Andrew William MacLeod, age 42 of Loch Broom on October 1, 2025 at the Aberdeen Hospital.

Andrew spent many years working as a truck, trailer, and heavy-duty mechanic, where he made lifelong friends and was always someone others could count on. He led with honesty, patience, and a quiet strength that earned him the respect of his crew.

Andrew was an old soul, grounded in timeless values. A hardworking and loyal family man, he found joy in the simple things. Whether he was chopping wood, mowing the lawn, or tinkering in his workshop, Andrew was most at home outdoors. He loved filling the kitchen with music while he cooked, especially when surrounded by the family he cherished most. Spending time with them was his greatest happiness.

Andrew is survived by his wife Tracey and children Josie and Morgan, Loch Broom; his parents Kelly & Bradford MacLeod, Stellarton; brother Bradford MacLeod, Alysford; paternal grandmother Jean MacLeod, Stellarton; father in law Bob Thorne, Coalburn; brother in law Chris Thorne (Jeanne); and nephews Mason & Max, Nine Mile River; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by grandparents Clarence (Buddy) and Stella Smith; grandfather Alex MacLeod and mother-in-law Beverley Thorne.

There will be no visitation. The family will gather for a private graveside service at a later date.
