Obituary of Raymond Emerson Thistle
October 18, 1936 – November 5, 2025
It is with great sadness that I, Deborah Thistle, Raymond’s wife of 50 years, announce his passing. He will be forever loved and greatly missed.
Ray and Deborah spent the past 50 years residing at their property at Black Point, Pictou County. Ray spent many hours working on the yard and gardening, which he enjoyed every minute of. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and past president of the Pictou County Men’s Dart League. He loved fishing, hunting, dancing, darts and a good game of cards. He also had a love for country music, travelling and camping with his wife. He especially enjoyed their many trips to Newfoundland.
Special thanks to his mother-in-law, Corinne Cameron; brother-in-law Bradley Cameron; and sister-in-law Deborah Lee Cameron, nieces Amanda Cameron and Tara Lee Cameron and nephew Mark Cameron, for all their love and support at this sad and difficult time. Also, special thanks to our caring neighbors, the VON, the Palliative Care team, and Eagles Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 11, 2025 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Eagles Funeral Home, 1611 North Main St. Westville. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 12th at 2:00pm from the Eagles Funeral Chapel. Burial to follow at Church Brook Cemetery, Little Harbour.
