Obituary of Mary Rita Jones

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary "Rita" Jones on November 16, 2025, at the age of 82 in the care of the loving staff at the Mira in Truro, NS.

Rita was born in Westville, NS on January 6th, 1943 to Catherine Cyr and Charles MacNaughton and spent most of her life living in Pictou County.

She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and loved music, dancing and laughter.

Rita is survived by her children, Kimberly, Shawn, Travis, David and Lynn; grandchildren Holly and Amy and great grandchildren Tianna, Violet, LaMya and Milani, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She is preceded in death by sisters Lena and Mary; brothers Stewart and Jackie, and a granddaughter Jessica.

There will be a graveside memorial service held at a later date in Westville, NS. 

Rita will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
