Obituary of Barry Austen Rae

Barry Austen Rae, Salt Springs, passed away on Sunday , Novemeber 23, 2025 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.

Barry was born on Novemer 29, 1960, to Clarence and Catherine (Watters) Rae of Salt Springs.  He was a skilled painter and fabricator, and worked the last number of years at Steel Pro, Pictou. Barry's favorite pastimes included cruising on his Harley Davidson and playing guitar.

Barry is survived by his sons Austen Hilchey (Tiffany) of Abercrombie and Andrew (Anna Mae) Hilchey of Westville; sister Norma Rae, Six Mile Brook; brother Randy Rae (Shelley), White Hill; and other brother Andy Coleman, Truro; nephew Barry Swallow (Goldie) and their children Clare, Cora and Garrett; niece Anna Swallow (Blake) and their children Emily and Gage; also survived by several cousins.

Barry was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Catherine Rae.

Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Barry's wishes there will be no funeral or visitation.
