Obituary of Marion Evelyn Dowell

It is with saddened hearts that we said a final good-bye to Marion Evelyn Dowell on December 2, 2025.  Marion was born on February 3, 1929 to the late Harry and Gladys (Rowe) Gough.  She was raised on a farm in Union Center, Pictou County.

Marion married Albert Dowell and moved to Hamilton Road, outside of Westville, where they raised their family.  After the passing of her husband, Marion moved back to Westville and then eventually to Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow.  

Marion enjoyed sewing and helping family and friends with their projects.

Marion is survived by her children Arthur (Audrey), Helen Gower, Shirley Glennie and Katherine Dowell.  She was also blessed with many grandchildren and also great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Gladys; her husband, Albert; her sister Winnifred Bean and brother-in-law Dr. Reverend Everett Bean; her sons-in-law Roy Gower and Jim Glennie.

There will be no visitation or funeral at this time, but a graveside service at a later date.  In lieu of flowers the family request that you plant a tree in her memory.
