Obituary of Ruth Marie Sutherland
Ruth Marie Sutherland, age 88, of Westville passed away Friday December 5th 2025 at Valley View Villa.
Ruth was a graduate of Westville High, Nova Scotia Hospital School of Nursing with her RN and MacGill University with her Bachelor of Nursing. She Retired early from the VG Hospital to care for her aging mother.
Ruth was an active member and elder of St. Paul United Church.
Ruth is survived by brothers Wilbert (Aileen) and Charlie (Camilla); nieces Lisa (Aaron) Woolley, Andrea Sutherland, Jodi (Chris) Blondon and Janet (Neil) Neville; nephews Josh (Charlee) Sutherland and Mark (Pascale) Sutherland; as well eleven grand nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Mary and Clem Sutherland.
Special thanks are extended to Ruths caregiver Gwen and to Dr. Elliot and the wonderful staff who became her family at Valley View Villa for the last six years.
Visitation will be held from 1-1:50pm on Wednesday December 10th 2025 and funeral service beginning at 2pm at the Eagles Funeral Home, Westville, reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Ruth may be made to St. Paul United Church or Valley View Villa Recreation Fund.
