Obituary of George Alexander Rundle

George Alexander (Sandy) Rundle, 77, of Stellarton (formerly Westville), passed away on December 17, 2025, in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital.

Sandy was born on November 2, 1948 in Westville to Jim and Annie Rundle.

A butcher by trade, Sandy managed different stores throughout Pictou County and Truro, during his career. His first being Carrigan's store in Westville. Marilyn and him also spent their time doing volunteer work all throughout the county.

Sandy was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved being in the woods and spending as much time as possible in Tor Bay. 

Sandy is survived by his loving partner of 26 years Marilyn Higgins; daughters Paula Albers (Bob), Moncton, NB, Lynn Bonhomme (Mike), Stellarton; Grandchildren Colby Bonhomme and Kelsey Albers; foster daughter Amanda MacDonald (Fred Murray), Truro; Sisters Betty Fitt, Ormocto, NB; Jean MacKinnon, Westville; Marguerite Kilburn, Westville; Elvira Enfield (Lloyd), French River and Agnes Blair(Donald), Pictou. Brothers; Charles Rundle (Rose), Foxbrook; Eddie Rundle, Linacy; and many nieces and nephews. 

He was predeceased by sisters Martha Rundle and Mary Morse and brothers Bill Rundle and Jesse Rundle.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no services at the request of the deceased. Burial will take place at Heatherdale Memorial Gardens, Sylvester, in the spring.
