Obituary of Norma Marie Higgins

It is with the heaviest of hearts we announce the death of Norma Marie (Cantley) Higgins, 78, of Westville, on January 13, 2026 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.

Norma was born in New Glasgow to Theresa and Roy Cantley on April 16, 1947.  She grew up and raised her children in the Red Row, Stellarton.  She enjoyed reading, traveling with her husband, sharing tea with friends and spending time with family. 

Norma is survived by her husband of 56 years, Gregg Higgins, Westville, daughters, Wendy (Al) Granata, Hamilton and Kelly (John) Phillips, Thorburn, son, Scott Higgins, New Glasgow, sister, Pat (Bob) Holley, Stellarton, brothers, Dennis Cantley, Trenton, Glenn (Joanne) Cantley, Stellarton and Greg Cantley, Montreal, her pride and joy, granddaughter Anya and many nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her parents, Theresa and Roy and her brother Kenny.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Eagles Funeral Home, Westville.  There will be no funeral services.  A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Aberdeen Hospital ICU and Palliative Care units.  Donations in her name can be made to Diabetes Canada, Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care or a charity of your choice.
