Obituary of Harold Gordon Chabassol

Harold Gordon Chabassol, age 73, of New Glasgow Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully on January 26^th, 2026, with his son by his side.

Born on January 15^th, 1953 in Stellarton Nova Scotia, Harold was the beloved son of Shirley Fraser and Elwin Chabassol. He was a devoted husband to Louise (Leblanc) Chabassol and a loving father to Shane (Jenn) Chabassol and Paula (Mike) Homer.

Harold truly enjoyed the outdoors, he was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of the local ATV club and loved to go camping. Harold found great joy tinkering in his shed, he could fix anything. Later in life he found enjoyment in cooking, he would share his recipes with his daughter daily. Throughout his life, he worked as an insurance sales man, he had a love for numbers and was proud of his children and grandchildren’s accomplishments.

He will be deeply missed by his children Shane and Paula and his partner Jeanne Chisholm and fondly remembered by his mother Shirley Fraser, brothers, Howard (Dorys) Chabassol, Fraser (Ina) Chabassol and Kendall Chabassol and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Louise, his father Elwin and baby brother Joseph.

A celebration of life will be held from 11am-1pm on February 3^rd, 2026 at Eagles Funeral Home, 1611 North Main Street, Westville NS.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Harold’s memory.
