Obituary of Dorothy Blanche Fraser
The death of Dorothy Blanche (DeYoung) Fraser of New Glasgow occurred on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 in the Aberdeen Hospital with her children by her side.
Born in New Glasgow on March 3, 1936, she was the youngest daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Benoit) DeYoung.
She worked in the food industry and was employed by the Coffee Pot and Aberdeen Hospital.
Blanche is survived by and will be greatly missed by daughter, Denise (Roger); her sons, John (Judy), Kevin; her granddaughters, Amanda, Kelly and Angela; great grandchildren, Logan, Alanna, Lauryn, Bodhi, Layla and Benny; one brother, Elmer (Ann, deceased) and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Laurie in 1991, a son, Weldon Earl in infancy; sisters, Margaret Phalen, Alice Best, Dolena Stewart, Jean Clyburne, Agnes Sutherland, Cecilia Sager; brothers, Joe, Louis, John, Bert, Pat, Ralph, Wally and Frank.
Blanche’s family wish to thank the VON home care staff for her morning and evening visits as well as the ICU and 2 North nursing staff at the Aberdeen Hospital.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Burial to take place in Gairloch Cemetery, Gairloch at a later date.
