Obituary of Richard Wallace Livingstone

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dad, Richard Livingstone, on March 17, 2026, at the age of 80.

Dad was born on July 18, 1945, to Emma and Dan Livingstone. He grew up and spent his entire life in Westville, a place he was proud to call home. He worked at Michelin Tire for 30 years, where he made many lifelong friends.

Growing up, Dad was the protector of the family. If anyone messed with his siblings, they quickly learned why he was known as “Mad Dog.”

Dad loved his sports. In his younger days, he played hockey, rugby, and baseball, and later in life, there was always a game on TV. He was a proud fan of the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Blue Jays, and made sure he always had the right hat to represent them. He also spent many years playing in dart tournaments, where he earned the nickname “Iceman” and collected more than a few trophies. Some of his favourite times were spent fishing, especially with Mike and Brandon.

More than anything, Dad was a family man. He loved Mom with everything he had, and together they shared 56 amazing years. He was so proud of all of us, and especially his grandkids. He was always there to listen, never judged, and somehow always had the right advice. Dad loved to joke and tease—especially the ones he loved most—and he definitely passed that down. We called him “the OG” and the “king of jerks,” and he wouldn’t have had it any other way. If he could get a rise out of you, that made his day.

Dad will be deeply missed by Mom, Bonnie; his children, Charlene (Shawn), Crystal (Trevor), and Mike (Brianne); and his grandchildren, Brianna (Corey), Brandon, Jake, and Jenna. He was also so excited to meet his great-grandson, Noah.

He is also survived by his brother Kenny, along with many nieces and nephews.

Dad was predeceased by his parents, Emma and Dan, his brothers Bobby, James, Duncan, Harold, Reggie, Wayne, and Garfield, and his sisters Sharon and Marilyn.

Dad leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love. He will always be remembered for his sense of humour, his strength, and the way he loved his family. We’ll wear your hats with pride, Dad.

Visitation will be held from 1-1:45pm on Sunday, March 22 from the Eagles Funeral Home Chapel, with the funeral service to follow at 2pm with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Auburn Cemetery.

“Never underestimate the importance of spending time with the people you love—it is quite possibly the greatest blessing of all.”
