Obituary of Tammy Lee Gay

Tammy Lee Gay, 53, of Westville, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026, with her family by her side. Born on June 21, 1972, in New Glasgow, she was the beloved daughter of Jessie Gay and the late Whitney Gay.

Tammy is survived by her partner of 33 years, Sandy Jones; her mother, Jessie Gay; her stepdaughter, Sandra (Andrew), and daughter-in-law, Christine; her grandsons, Liam and Henry; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, including her special aunt, Nellie who she considered her second mother. She was predeceased by her father, Whitney Gay, and her stepson, Brian.

Tammy dedicated more than 30 years to her work with Crombie REIT. She also had a passion for gardening, her cats, and the outdoors, especially enjoying many memorable ATV trips to Newfoundland.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the palliative care team at the Aberdeen Hospital for their exceptional compassion and support, especially Nurses Amy Munroe and Rachel MacDonald for the care and kindness they showed Tammy.

In keeping with Tammy’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a small graveside committal service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tammy’s memory may be made to the palliative care unit at the Aberdeen Hospital, or a tree may be planted in her memory.
