Obituary of Lillian Anne MacLeod

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Lillian Anne (Wood) MacLeod. She passed away very peacefully with her family lovingly by her side on March 21, 2026 at Ivey Terrace Care Home, Trenton, NS, where she resided for the past two years.

Born in New Glasgow, NS on November 27th, 1930, Lillian lived an adventure filled 95 years having resided in Nova Scotia, Ontario Quebec as well as Germany. She was the eldest daughter of the late J. William and Annie (Dungale) Wood of Westville, NS.

Lillian/Mom/Grandma loved family and spent many hours seeking out “long lost “relatives as she researched the family tree. She loved to learn and was always keeping abreast of what was happening throughout the world. Lillian held a deep love of music whether she was playing guitar, her piano or just singing a familiar tune. She loved to share her voice, whether it was in her numerous choirs, or a special song just to brighten your day. She was truly the glue that held us all together. She taught us to enjoy the simple pleasures of life like a peaceful walk in the woods or feeding the birds
and to always stop and take time to smell the roses. Mom was kind to all and took many under her wings to help whenever needed through both hard times and good. Mom was gracious and elegant yet knew how to be silly at just the right times. Her beautiful smile would light up every room and warm your heart at the same time.

Mom has gone to join the love of her life the late Robert Wilson “Mac” MacLeod She was predeceased by, her brothers William (Bill), Chester, Arthur, Ronnie as well as her only sister Arthene Ella (Wood) Russell and her sisters-in-laws Leona and Betty Wood. Mom will be forever deeply missed by her son William J (Bill) MacLeod and daughter Lynn (MacLeod) Brezinski both of New Glasgow, NS as well as her dearest Grandchildren Kevin (Carla) MacLeod of Prescott ON, John (Anissa) MacLeod of Hammonds Plains NS and Stephanie (Nick) Cummings of BarHaven, ON. She will be always remembered with love by her great-grandchildren Hannah and Tallulah Cummings of ON and Kaelan MacLeod of NS and Jeremy MacLeod of ON. Lillian is also survived by her much loved brothers John Wood of ON and Jim (Tina Fournier) Wood of Landsdowne NS, as well as numerous much loved nieces and nephews.

In memory of Lillian, please take a moment to share a kind word, deed or a song with someone to brighten up their day.

The Family of Lillian wish to extend our sincere thanks to All the staff at Ivey Terrace Care Home for the wonderful, compassionate care given to Mom while a resident there.

As per Lillian’s wishes, cremation has taken place with private family internment at Birch Hill Cemetery, Rocklin, Pictou County followed by a Celebration of her Life at a later date.
