Obituary of Marie "Paulette" Nadeau
Marie "Paulette" Nadeau, age 78, of Hammonds Plains, NS, peacefully passed away on Friday June 12, 2026, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on April 19, 1948 in Birthplace: Bathurst, NB, she was the daughter of the late Paul Eugene Boudreau and Elizabeth (Betty) Marie Boudreau. Paulette grew up in Saint John, NB and after her marriage to Romeo, they moved to Nova Scotia where they would spend most of their married life. Romeo’s job with Michelin would bring them to many places: France, Pictou County, Bridgewater, the Annapolis Valley and Fort Wayne, Indiana. With every move Paulette ensured that the new location was home where friends and family were always made welcome.
After returning to Nova Scotia for retirement, they decided being snowbirds suited them and they purchased a condo in Fort Myers, Florida where they enjoyed escaping from the NS winters for 15 years. Over the years Paulette volunteered her time most notebly at the Child Development Centre in Westville and taught French at Pentz elementary school. She took great joy in gardening, playing cards, a feed of lobster and a good lunch with her lunch buddies after a morning of shopping. Paulette will be remembered most for her unwavering devotion to her grandchildren.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Romeo; her daughter, Tracey MacIsaac (Glen), and her cherished grandchildren, Keegan Bish, Callum Bish and step grandchildren Ella and Lilah MacIsaac. She also leaves behind brother in law Robert Landry (Belinda) , nephew Joshua, niece Justine and many special friends who loved her dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Kimberley Ann.
Family and friends are invited to attend the services to celebrate her life and faith. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 22nd at Holy Name Catholic Church at 11:00am, with Father Peter MacDonald presiding; Interment will immediately follow at the Holy Name Cemetery, 1659 MacKay St. Westville; with reception to follow at Holy Name church hall, 1664 North Main St. Westville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in her honor to VON at https://von.ca/en/donation-form.
