Obituary of Richard Henry Vance
Richard Henry Vance, age 80 of Foxbrook, Nova Scotia passed away at home on Friday June 19, 2026.
Born in Thorburn, Nova Scotia he was the son of the late Donald and Sarah Vance.
Richard spent most of his working career as a truck driver, getting to see most of Canada and the USA through the windshield of his eighteen wheeler. He was very proud of the fact he drove over a million miles without ever having an accident.
Richard was pre deceased by his wife Janet Vance (Mackay), sons Michael Vance and Billy Vance, a brother Johnny Vance, brother in-law Doug Ehler and great grandson John Henry.
Surviving are his children Shauna Maxwell (Jay Nauss) of Foxbrook, their children Kayla Maxwell (Mike Pottie), Madison and Great Grandson Jackson. A daughter Kim Boutilier (Gerard) of New Glasgow, Sons Rick Vance of New Brunswick, Donnie Vance (Brenda) of New Glasgow, Gordie Vance (Denise) of Texas, USA. His sisters Tena Darroch (Jack) of Ontario, Donna Ehler of Thorton, Connie Murdock (Brent) of Merigomish and sister in law Anne-Louise Hayne-Vance of New Glasgow and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Support staff of the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit and Von for their care, support and kindness these last few months.
At Richard's request there will be no visitation or funeral. If you wish donations in Richard's memory can be made to the Palliative Care Unit, Aberdeen Hospital.
