Obituary of Jack Marshall
John "Jack" James Marshall
It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather John "Jack" James Marshall on July 3rd 2026 at age 83.
He was born December 13, 1942 to Jack and Alexina Marshall. Jack spent 34 years with the Royal Canadian Armed Forces. His military career started in Camp Borden, later taking him to Egypt, Calgary, Germany, Valcartier, Suffield, Gagetown, Moncton and Kingston.
Jack retired and moved to New Glasgow with his wife Judy in 1993. After retirement, Jack worked as a commissionaire at the Nova Scotia Power Plant for more than 15 years.
Jack was an elder and member of the First Presbyterian Church New Glasgow. Jack loved travelling to anywhere warm but had a special place in his heart for travelling to Cuba. He also fulfilled a life dream of travelling to Hawaii. He will be remembered for his strong spirit, kind heart and quiet sense of humour.
Jack is survived by his wife Judy (Jardine) Marshall; son Jim (Sarah Marshall), Wainwright, Alberta; daughter Patty (John MacIntosh) Marshall, Westville, NS; siblings Howard (Jean) Marshall, Jacqueline (Jack) Fanning, Debbie Marshall, Allister (Janice) Forsythe, Isabel Forsythe and Paul Marshall; grandchildren Courtney (Nick) Davidson, Colin Marshall, Celina (Paul) French, Janelle (Mark) Kearney, Amber (Kevin Lehmann) Lawyer, Victoria and Abagail MacIntosh; ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Jack was predeceased by his father Jack Marshall, mother Alexina Marshall and stepmother Emily Marshall, brothers Joey Marshall, Robert Marshall and Joe Forsythe.
Visitation will be held from 1-2pm on July 7th at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with a funeral service to follow at 2pm. A reception will take place immediately following the funeral service. Burial will be at the Hopewell Cemetery on the Foxbrook Road.
The family would like to thank Earth Angels Home Care, VON, Palliative Care Aberdeen Hospital and Dr. Sheppard for all their compassionate care over the past few years.
