Obituary of Donald Andrew Chisholm
Donald Andrew Chisholm, 76, of Sylvester, formerly of Abercrombie, passed away peacefullyat home, surrounded by his family, on July 22, 2026.
Born in New Glasgow, he was the son of the late Ernest Alexander Chisholm and Grace Irene (MacCallum) Chisholm.
After completing his schooling, Donald worked at Donnie Munro's Esso in New Glasgow. During this time, he met the love of his life, Hazel Jenny Walsh. Shortly after, they moved to Thompson, Manitoba, where Donald worked for Inco. After a few years, they returned to Pictou County, where he began working at Michelin Tire. Five years later, Donald changed careers and became an automotive mechanic. He worked at Canadian Tire for 26 years before semi-retiring and joining Vincent MacDonald Automotive, where he remained until his health no longer allowed him to continue working.
Dad enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, and caring for his beautiful yard and home. He dearly loved his family and doted on his grandchildren. He was a devoted husband to Hazel, the love of his life, and together they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage.
Donald is survived by his loving wife, Hazel; hissons, Donald (Maryann), Bible Hill; Jamie, Sylvester; and Andy (Nikki), Westville; and his three cherished grandchildren, John Connors, Grace Ann, and Dylan Bengerimen.
Besides his parents, Donald was predeceased by his brother, Gregory Chisholm, and his sister, Grace (MacDonald) Chisholm.
Visitation will be held from 4-7pm at Eagles Funeral Home on Thursday, July 30th, 2026.
