Obituary of Christine Anne Jackson
It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Christine Jackson (Best) 61 of Westville, NS. Christine passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Aberdeen Hospital on July 26th, 2026.
Christine was born in London Ontario, April 11th 1965, to Gerald (Jerry) Best, and Marion Best (Lynds).
Christine grew up in London and Petawawa Ontario until moving with her family to Greenwood NS at age 13 in 1978. Her family then relocated and settled in “the old farm house” in West River Station shortly after.
She spent her summers traveling to NS, riding bikes, walking with her mother and picking blueberries.
She married her previous husband John Jackson in 1993, they lived in Sydney NS, Westville NS and Williams Lake BC before settling on the Montreal Road in West River Station. They were happily married for 18 years.
Christine worked various jobs around Truro and Pictou County where she was easily recognized. In her spare time, she enjoyed many hobbies and the little things in life brought her joy. She enjoyed long drives in the country listening to her favourite bands such as the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac - Stevie Nicks could always cure a bad day. She loved to bake many delicious treats, always gifting the majority to her loved ones. She appreciated a good movie any night of the week, with Bridgette Jones amongst her favourites. She took pride in her flowers and gardens over the years; she was the only one of us with a green thumb. What she enjoyed the most was spending quality time with family and friends over a cup of tea.
Christine spent the last ten years with her chosen life partner, her love, her best friend, John Morrison of Westville, NS. They met one day at the local convenience store and were inseparable ever since. John loved Christine deeply and never left her side, caring for her and holding her hand through her most difficult days.
Christine’s final days were happily spent with her partner John, her children, her siblings and her kitten Stevie.
Christine is survived by her 4 children: Brennan McCracken (Judy McCracken) - Peace River, AB, Justin Connors (Jessica Roy) - Truro, NS, Alicia Jackson - New Glasgow, NS, and Lindsey Jackson (Mitchell Macintosh) - New Glasgow, NS; siblings Sharon Smith (Robert) - Westville, NS, David Best (Jenny) - Hong Kong, China, and Patricia “Patsy” Chapman - Red Deer, AB; grandchildren Jade and Angelina Connors - Truro, NS, and Myles MacIntosh (Arriving Oct. 2026) - New Glasgow, NS; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Christine was predeceased by her mother Marion Best and her father Gerald Best; her sister Kathy Greene; and her brother Lawrence (Larry) Best.
Thank you to the doctors, nurses, and support staff at CBRH, SMRH and Aberdeen Hospital who cared for Christine. Thank you to her palliative care nurse Rachel. Christine fought a hard battle, and you supported her greatly along the way.
The family will receive visitors at Eagles Funeral Home on August 6th from 5-7pm. There will be no funeral service, and a private burial will take place at a later date.
