Obituary of Jeanne Ferguson

Jeanne Margaret Cotter Ferguson, age 78, Westville, slipped into peaceful sleep on April 15th, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family in the Palliative Care Unit at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in West River Station on September 9, 1930, she was one of three daughters of the latand Emma (Kindervator) Gordon. Jeanne attended and taught school in a little red school house in West River Station. Most of her happiest years were spent in Westville, NS, where she proudly raised four sons and a daughter. Jeanne is survived by sons, Steven (Cathy), Trenton; Rocky (Caroline), Westville; Howie (Cathy), Plymouth; daughter Bonnie, Westville; step sons, David and Edward (Jane) Ferguson, Westville; grandchildren, John, Jaclyn, Derek, Joshua, Brandon, Jerry, Adam, Katie, Janine, Jason, and Aaron; and great grandchildren, Chyanne, Cierra and Andrew; sister Betty Munro (Charlie), New Glasgow; as well as several nieces and nephews. Jeanne was predeceased by first husband John Massey Cotter and second husband Nugent Ferguson; son Jeffrey William Cotter; and sister Kaye Peters (Johnny). Visitations were held from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday from Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her funeral service was held Saturday at 11 a.m. from Eagles Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Cremation will follow. Family flowers only. Donations to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Unit, the Nova Scotia Lung Association, or the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation, would be appreciated.
