Obituary of Jackie Williams

With a heavy heart we announce the passing of Jackie (John Daniel) Williams, 69 years, of Glencoe. Jackie’s journey on this earth has come to a close. Born in Glencoe, on April 18, 1940, he was a son of the late John Dan and Sarah Elda (Campbell) Williams Jackie passed away peacefully on October 10th, 2009 surrounded by his loving wife June (Dunn); his daughters, Donna (Gordon) Boyle, Calgary; Paula (Robert) Pellerine, Scotsburn Road; Bernice (Andre) Theriault, Bridgewater and sister in law, Sheila (Bert) MacLeod, Bridgeville. He is also survived by his six grandchildren; Melissa (Andy) MacDonald, John and Daniel Boyle, Jarod and Rebecca Campbell and Samuel Theriault; brothers, Jimmie (Mabel) Williams, Pictou, Donnie (Carol Anne) Williams, Fredericton and sister Aggie Ann (Ken) Turner, Fall River, and many in laws, nieces and nephews. He chose to share his love for the country with his girls and lived there his whole life. He was well known for his soft spoken, kind hearted and generous nature. Jackie was a great friend, chauffeur and community volunteer. Cremation has taken place. Family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His memorial service will be held 2 o’clock Wednesday from St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, St. Paul’s , Pictou County with Rev. Iona MacLean officiating. Interment will be in Sunny Brae Cemetery.
