Obituary of Bernard Connors

Bernard Adrian Connors, age 78, Westville Road, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Stellarton, he was a son of the late David and Lena (Hicks) Connors. He was employed with the C.N..R. for 45 years. He and his wife operate Connors Red Barn where he always enjoyed meeting people. He had a great passion for fixing things. Bernie enjoyed music, playing his guitar and especially enjoyed his pets dogs, Bumper, Blackie and Toby and pet cat, Big Ben. A very humble person and a gentleman, Bernie’s family was very dear to him. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 55 years, June (MacKeigan); sons, Ronald (Anne), Sarnia, Ont.; Gary (Mary Helen), MacLellan’s Brook; Wayne (Jackie), West Indies’ daughters, Lynn, Stellarton; Michele vanDuinkerken (Cor), Abercrombie; Jeni Mason (Scott), B.C.; sister, Shirley MacBeth, Stellarton, and several grand children, great grand children, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Bill. A memorial service was held at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with the Rev. Peter Armstrong officiating. Donations in Bernie’s memory may be made to the Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton or the Pictou County S.P.C.A..
