Isabel's funeral service will be held at 11 am Friday, October 27 from the Church of The Holy Name, Westville with Father Charles Cameron officiating.

Obituary of Isabel Duggan

It is with heavy hearts we announce the death of Isabel Catherine Duggan,  83 of Westville who passed away  on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 in the Maritime Oddfellows Home, Pictou with her family by her side.

Born in New Glasgow on July 19, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Elizabeth (Martin) Manning. 

Isabel was a long time resident of Westville.  She was a Personal Care Worker at Glen Haven Manor and went on to work at Sears and later the Aberdeen Hospital from where she retired. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Westville Fire Department for many years, enjoyed playing cards and going to bingo but most of all just being at home with her children, grand children and friends.  Isabel had an infectious laugh which lit up the whole room. 

A loving wife, mother and grand mother, she will be dearly missed by her children, David (Stephanie), New Glasgow;  Lois Brown (Delbert), Westville; Cyril (Sherri), Waterville; Audrey Crews (Kenny), Westville; Richard “Doc” (Patricia), Hampton, P.E.I.; grand children Catie and Greg; Hiliary and Patrick; Nicole and Michael; Matthew, Brandon, Shona, Megan, Tori, Trevor and Andrew as well as 15 great grand children. 

She is also survived by her brothers Rod Manning (Betty), Richard Norris (Peggy); brothers and sisters-in-law Irvin Fleet, Albert Marshall, Dot Duggan, Joan and Barry MacEachern, Rosalind MacDonald and many nieces and nephews. 

Married for 58 years, Isabel's husband Patrick “Paddy” Duggan passed away in 2020. She was also predeceased by sister Jean Fleet and sister and brothers-in-law Florence Marshall, Jack Duggan and Wayne MacDonald. 

There will be no visitations held.  Her funeral service will be held 11 am Friday from The Church of The Holy Name, Westville with Father Charles Cameron officiating.  Interment will be in the Holy Name Cemetery with her husband Patrick . No flowers by request, donations in her memory may be made to the Maritime Oddfellows Home or a charity of one's choice. .
