Obituary of Charles Connors

Charles “Charlie” W. Connors of  Little Harbour Road, passed peacefully on Thursday, January 25, 2024, in the Palliative Care Unit at the Aberdeen Hospital.

Charles was born to Cyril and Beatrice Connors (nee Rondelet) on August 31, 1941, at the old Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Fran (nee Duggan), his daughters, Denise Foote, Leigh Connors and  Beverly Turner, son Roger Connors; his grandchildren, Geoffrey Foote (Michelle), Sebastian Turner, and Francesca Turner; great-grandson, Isaac Sokalski; as well as his brother, Gordon Connors (Linda) and nephew Scott Connors (Monique); and great-nephews, Noah, Caleb, and Hunter.

Charles was predeceased by his son-in-law, Scott Foote.

Charles spent all his early life in Stellarton and then moved to Little Harbour Road with his wife and young family. He worked at Michelin for nearly 30 years retiring as Logistics Manager. Then, he worked for King Freight Line for a few additional years. Also, Charlie volunteered with the Nova Scotia Highlanders – Pictou Chapter. Final retirement was easily decided upon the arrival of the lights of his life, Grandchildren. Charlie’s favourite place was in a boat on a lake, fishing rod in hand waiting to catch ‘the big one’ but just as happy drowning worms. As a family, we all agree that right now Charlie has hung a sign ‘Gone Fishing’ and is with his long missed friend, Wayne England (Margaret) and son-in-law, Scott Foote.

Many thanks and blessings to the nurses, doctors, and staff at Aberdeen Hospital Oncology, 4th floor and Palliative Care and the RCU: Sutherland Harris Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be on Sunday, 28 January, 2024, at Eagles Funeral Home from 1-1:45pm from where his funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with Father Tom MacNeil officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pictou County Fuel Fund or charity of choice.
