        Osborne Eagles 1946

Osborne "Ossie" Eagles completed his studies and examinations in embalming and funeral directing in 1946.  These were the first written examinations for the Province of Nova Scotia and apprenticed under David MacKenzie, Scotsburn. 
 
After receiving his Diploma for Funeral Director and Embalmer, Mr. Eagles opened Eagles Funeral Service on Munro Street, Westville that same year.
Osborne Eagles married Wilma (Favier) in 1948.In 1952, they purchased the Munro property on North Main Street, opening the first funeral home in Westville where visitations and funerals could be held.

They were joined by their sons at the funeral home, Arthur in 1975 and David in 1979
