Obituary of Douglas Porter

It is with heavy heart we announce the death of Douglas Burton Porter, aged 75, of Westville, following a lengthy illness. He was a son of Charles and Julia “Nan” (Watters) Porter. Doug was survived by sisters, Margaret Hendsbee Boutilier (Bill), Thorburn; Phyllis Whitelock (Colin), Milford and Loreen Porter, Westville; and many nieces and nephews, and long time family friend Tyrell. Doug was predeceased by a sister Caroline Ruth. As Doug’s wishes, his body has been donated to Dalhousie University. A celebration of life will be held February 15, 2020 at St. Andrew’s Church Hall, Westville from 2-4 p.m. Donations in his memory may be made to the Pictou County SPCA, VON, Palliative Care, or a charity on your choice.
