Obituary of Bill Larade
William George “Bill” Larade, age 81, of Six Mile Brook, formerly of Westville, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, April 18, 2020 with his daughter by his side.
Born in New Glasgow on March 4, 1939, he was a son of the late John and Elizabeth “Bessie” (Forrestall) Larade, of Westville.
Bill grew up in Westville. He moved to Toronto as a young man where he worked as an X-Ray technician at the Wellesley Hospital. He later returned to Westville and worked as a supervisor at Michelin Tire. Bill was a former member of the Westville Fire Dept. He enjoyed baseball and was a big Toronto Blue Jays fan. Upon retirement from Michelin, enjoyed bar tending at the Stellarton Legion.true Toronto Blue Jays fan.
He will be dearly missed by his daughters, Patricia Larade, Trenton; Linda Muir (Mike), Six Mile Brook; son Bill (Jill), Scotch Hill; grandchildren, Matthew (Carrie), Erica, and Michelle (Justin) Larade; Justin and Melissa Muir; Charlee and Declan Larade; great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Ethan, Gabe, Trinity, and Marlee.
He is also survived by sisters, Sharon Dooley (Jimmy); Diane MacDonald (Lester); Barbara Hunter (Dean) and Pat MacDonald (Dave); close friends, Billy and Susan Ohrling, Debbie Mohamad, and Leanne Cadwell; brothers-in-law, Winston Stairs, Jerry Davidson, and Hubert MacGillivary; sisters-in-law, Rose Hutchings (Hutch); and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Margaret “Peggy” (MacDonald); grandson Adam Muir; sisters Marion Stairs, Sheila Davidson, and Valerie MacGillivary; and close friend Gertrude Cadwell.
For the safety of family and friends, there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. His funeral service will be held at a later date.
