Also many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Silas and Lillian Day, her husband Bernard Chenell, and three brothers: Rueben, George and Earl Day; sister Loreen Thompson and infant sister Vera.
Born on Entry Island, Magdalen Islands, she moved to Westville at the age of 5. After schooling she moved to Saint Johns, NFLD, to work for her Uncle Albert for 8 years until returning to Westville to reside. On a trip back to Entry Island with her mother she caught the eye of Bernard Chenell (Bun) who followed her home and swept her off her feet. They were married for 34 years until his passing on February 5th, 1997. Erma is most remembered for her work at the Westville Medical Center for many years leading up to her retirement. She volunteered her time to the Westville Cubs and Scouts and to St. Bee's Helping Hands. She loved to sew, make crafts of all sorts, go to bingo and card parties. Some of her most memorable times were her weekly get-togethers with her dear friends Nettie, Barb, and Trixie. As well as her card nights with her siblings Merle (Marion), and Loreen (Dan).
She will be greatly missed by many a family members and friends. We, her children, would like to take this opportunity to extend our greatest gratitude to the staff of Valley View Villa, where Mom resided for the past 2 years. We want to thank you for the tremendous love and care you gave our mother. Truly outstanding, above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you so much.
To respect the wishes of our mother, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place and there will be a grave-side service / celebration of life, at a later date.
