Obituary of Stephen Whytewood
Stephen Robert Whytewood, 85, of North Main Street, Westville, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late George and Violet (Lawrence) Whytewood.
Stephen was a coal miner for many years in Spring Hill and Thorburn. After the closure of the mines, he worked at Michelin Tire Corp. for 19 years until his retirement. In his leisure time, he greatly enjoyed spending time at his cottage on Big Island.
He will be dearly missed by his daughter Dawn Facey (David), Westville; son Kim (Anita), Westville; grandchildren, Jennifer, Kelly, Conner, Dylan, and Rilynn; and great-grandchildren, Madison and Abigail. He is also survived by sisters, Dorothy Duggan, Stellarton; Kathleen Baker (Jimmy), Alma; Muriel MacIntosh (Sandy), Garden of Eden; brothers, Jerry (Judy), Stellarton; and Jackie (Diane), Country Harbour.
He was predeceased by his wife Joan (Muir); brothers, Laurie “Red” and Whitman.

There will be no visitations. A public service will be held 2 o’clock Thursday at Springville Cemetery with Rev. Charles MacPherson officiating. (Please bring lawn chair if possible). Donations in his memory may be the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care.
