Obituary of Joseph Imlay
Joseph Alexander “Joe” Imlay, age 60, of Green Hill, formerly of Westville, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 in the Aberdeen Hospital, with his children by his side.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Edward and Margaret (Grimaldi) Imlay, Westville.
Joe was employed with Pictou County Solid Waste for over 30 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, taking pictures of nature, and driving his motorcycle. His greatest love was spending time with his family and close friends.
He will be sadly missed by his daughters, Elizabeth Wells (Scott), Caledon, Ont.; Jennifer (Sean Bray), Halifax; son Donald (Ashley), Windsor; grandchildren Jonny Spears (Jessica McKenna), Max Spears; Rachael, Hunter and Carter Imlay. He is also survived by his sister Katherine Groves (Bob), Truro; father-in-law John Hector MacKenzie, Westville; special sister, Shauna Burke (Blair), Halifax; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Betty Ann (Langille); brothers Raymond and Robert; mother-in-law Peggy MacKenzie; and father-in-law Milton Langille.
An outdoor funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Monday at Heatherdale Memorial Gardens with Rev. Doug Pilsworth officiating. Bring lawn chair if available and masks are required.
